DECA has thousands of advocates in the
business, education and public policy arenas. Two of the
most visible are the Congressional Advisory Board and
the National Advisory Board.
Over 30 members of the US Congress lend their name in
support of DECA by serving on DECA’s Congressional
Advisory Board (CAB). Members to the CAB support the
co-curricular programs offered by DECA as a way of expanding
leadership opportunities for students. For a list of the
CAB click here.
Over 70 corporations, foundations and associations have
formalized their advocacy of DECA by joining The National
Advisory Board (NAB). As members of the National Advisory
Board these organization contribute both their funds and
expertise to support DECA’s programs and activities.

The U.S. Department of Education has issued policy
statements in support of DECA as one of the Career and
Technical Student Organizations for over 40 years. A copy

Recognizing that DECA and the other career and technical
student organizations provide students with employability
skills, business partnerships, community outreach, leadership
opportunities, school-to-career solutions, and comprehensive
programs in career majors, The National Association
of State Directors of Career and Technical Education
endorses implementation of career and technical student
organizations as an integral part of the instructional
program. A copy of the last policy statement is available

The National Association of Secondary School Principals
(NASSP) annually reviews student conferences for inclusion
on its official list of approved activities. DECA conferences
have been endorsed by NASSP for more that 30 years.
