Marriott/DECA Advisor Externship
This year Marriott International, Inc. has opened
its prestigious externship for college professors of
hospitality to include a DECA hospitality teacher. Lori
Jacobs, advisor at Washington H.S. in Washington, has
been chosen for this award.
The activity starts with a week at Marriott Headquarters
in Washington, D.C., getting an inside look at the operations
of the company from Marriott's senior executive team.
This will be followed by a week spent onsite at a Marriott
property closer to the teacher's home area learning
how Marriott's "Spirit to Serve" comes to
life at the retail level. The externship includes a
$2,000 stipend.
